HOLY TGIF. With the anticipation building for the Matthew Morris launch party tomorrow, this week has been a busy one. We had snow on Monday. Again. And today the patios of Denver are SCREAMING our names – it’s going to hit close to 70F! Please, please spring…you can stay! Today we’re doing a little different take on Friday Florals…an artsier take if you will. Wedding bouquets are easily the loveliest arrangement of the day. But they truly only last for a few days after the I Do smooch. How to make them stay beautiful forever? Commission them into a watercolor painting! Here are a few examples, as well as resources about where to get this done!
This work is by the lovely Sarah Park out of Columbia, Maryland just makes me swoon. She captures the essence of the bouquet so nicely. And while this one is solo and we don’t know what the real life bouquet looked like, the image below sums up pre-tty perfectly how well she can convey the magic-day to the eternal bouquet.

This painting by June Rollins is excellent evidence of why I believe watercolor is the best way to capture a bouquet. It maintains the softness of the petals and other lovely details that may come across harsher with other art media.

These paintings offered by Jen Huang are just oh.so.loverly. I can’t stand it! They make me want to do a total tablescape to capture the look of the reception. Jen offers these through her insanely talented photography business that I sort of want to go ahead and lock down for my wedding of the future…whenever that glorious day will happen!
Shoots And Blooms
This bouquet from Teri Farrell-Gittins of Shoots & Blooms is pure M-A-G-I-C. I love how soft and watercolory it is, yet I can still identify exactly each flower that was in the original bouquet. Stunning! So as your bouquet starts to fade in the days post-wedding, don’t fret! The images captured by your photographer are the perfect assistance for a talented watercolor artist who can create a portrait that will make your wedding bouquet last forever!
