The week is halfway over and, regardless of how you feel about last night’s results, let’s all rejoice in one thing…no more TV campaign ads – HOORAY!! And speaking of hooray, we have a wedding to show you today that is positively magical. Meet Kari and Jerry. Energetic, crazy stylish, talented, all-around awesome. Their excitement for their wedding radiated throughout the entire planning process and we loved how eager they were to be involved every step of the way. They picked the amazing Eaton Ranch for their venue and, even though the weather didn’t cooperate exactly as we had hoped for their July 7th wedding, they were complete troopers and made their wedding probably one of the most memorable, and magical, I have ever experienced. Both from the East, their paths crossed in Vail. It was only appropriate then that they stayed and got ready for their big day at Vail Cascade with family and friends from all over the country. And I’ll just go ahead and put this out there, but Steve Stanton Photography did an absolutely A-mazing, amazing job capturing all the important moments of the day.
THIS. Just pure magic.
They did their first look and initial family photos on top of Vail mountain. And to prove just how stylish they are – those suits! Those shoes! The bow ties! I can say without question they were one of my favorite-dressed couples of the season. In addition to Kari and Jerry having such a great group of friends surrounding them for their big day, they both had incredibly loving and close families supporting them every step of the way. You couldn’t help but feel the love! After pictures on top of Vail Mountain, the party moved to Eaton Ranch in Edwards. Unfortunately, so did the longest rain I have ever seen in Colorado. But did that stop anything? Only for a moment. Their colors and decor kept with the surroundings: natural, green, rustic. They were just right in the setting. Kari’s Dad designed the koozies. Jerry designed the programs. Everyone was involved in some aspect of the design process, making everything that much more personal. Being the troopers they are, Kari and Jerry were determined to have their ceremony outdoors. So we did a little switch up and did cocktail hour BEFORE the ceremony which then transitioned straight into dinner and dancing. And this change of schedule could not have been more perfect. It created what I am sure was the most memorable wedding for every person involved. With the help of some great friends and about 20 umbrellas, everything was in place. And Kari and Jerry had their Colorado wedding outdoors. Guests watched from under the tent. Vows were exchanged. And then, THE kiss in the rain. And right after that the party started with great music and amazing food from Bol of Vail. Toasts were made, the cake was cut and then the skies cleared! The Aspen trees of Eaton Ranch were the perfect backdrop. Pure Colorado magic. Exactly what Kari and Jerry wanted.
Jonny Mogambo crushed it on the stage and guests danced the night away!
This was certainly a wedding and a weekend I will never forget – I loved their perseverance in the rain, their energy, their friends and family but, most of all, how you couldn’t help but feel extreme joy, happiness and warmth when you looked at them that day. Seeing a couple who are truly best friends makes the little setbacks, like torrential downpours, that much less stressfult. Kari and Jerry, we are so grateful to have been part of such a memorable wedding and wish you all nothing but the best in the future!
