I have to admit…I love the gorgeous flowers, I crave the delicious food and I just cannot get over the stunning dresses BUT one of my favorite parts and probably the most under-rated part of a wedding celebration has to be the welcome bags or gift bags upon check-in. Don’t you just love the idea of checking in to the hotel for the weekend and receiving a handmade package from the bride and groom?! And typically, they’re stuffed with fun and yummy items. These bags are always such a nice gesture and an easy way to show your appreciation of their attendance, especially if they are not from the area. Plus, it is a time to get as creative as you want! Express you and your fiance’s passion for chocolate, or include the drink you shared on your first date or your favorite childhood toys—think outside of the box!! This is where its honestly acceptable, and even encouraged, to get as fun and entertaining as possible. Need ideas for what kind of bag or what to fill it with? Just look here at some of our favorites!
Whether its a bag or a box, there are many options out there to fit whatever you’re including in your welcome gift. Sturdy boxes like the one above are best if you are including anything fragile, and totes are great for holding snacks and yummy treats Its always helpful to give your guests a little extra info upon check-in! Include close activities to do, places to shop or services offered by the hotel. This is also a good spot to include a quick overview of wedding weekend plans so your guests are prepared accordingly. But don’t think that these inserts have to be all business! Sass them up with your own style! Now we’re getting to the good stuff! Here is where the sky is the limit. Keep in mind things that accent you and your fiance’s relationship–some of your favorite candies or mints are an easy hit! Also, use the location as your friend. If you are having a wedding with many out-of-town guests, offer them some of the best local treats like locally made chips, sodas, beers or chocolates. They’ll be sure to remember how great the trip was!
