LOVE THEM!!! that is the simplest way that I can put my feelings for this amazing couple. More than just planning their wedding, we hung out and talked about music, travel, outdoors (read skiing) and so much more. They became fast friends of ours and we were so thankful to have had the chance/opportunity to work with them on such an important event. The ceremony and reception were held at the Donovan Pavilion in Vail, Colorado. This venue is a favorite for the impression that it makes on guests that have never been to the area. Surrounded by aspens and evergreens, the ceremony site is nestled into a valley that a creek runs through, the quaint sounds of the wondering water can be heard as guests await the start of the festivities.
I loved the flowers for this event. They wanted a popular color for the wedding season, purple. But they did not want the flowers to be typical. This opened the door for us to use some really fun materials like allium (onion), lotus pods, columbine (Colorado’s flower), passion flower, fiddle head fern shoots and scabiosa pods…I love the texture and woodsy look of Lindsey’s bouquet.Other fun little details worth mentioning, are the table name cards which were vintage posters that were a nod to the couple’s love of outdoor activities. Some of the activities noted in the posters; biking, mountain climbing, hiking, skiing and backpacking. We also made great bride and groom seat letters to adorn their chair backs.Their guest book, John Fielder’s COLORADO book was displayed with markers and a cute sign with a larger than life clothes pin stand.Because the couple loved to travel, we used luggage tags that were personalized by our favorite calligrapher with each person’s name and address as their escort cards.
they were a hit!
