Everyone, well just about everyone, has been to a wedding. What makes one wedding different then another you ask? Well, without a doubt it is personal touches and details. There are many ways to incorporate details into your event; one of our favorite ways is through the escort cards. Since at some point in almost every event, guests are going to have to be seated for dinner or toasts, escort cards are an essential item. These little individual cards direct your guest and help explain your seating arrangement.
Just a side note on seating.
There are many ways to go about creating seating arrangements for your guests. You can assign a specific seat at a specific table to keep everything neatly organized. You can allow them to choose their own seat and hope for the best, or, what we consider the most user friendly way of doing it, you can assign guests to a table and let them choose what chair they want to sit in. Two of the mentioned ways of seating require an escort card.
Escort cards are fun because they can take on any shape or size. The days of the plain white tent cards lined up like soldiers in tight rows is gone, though not forgotten. Today we take bits of the client’s personality and translate those bits into something that shows the guests the careful thought that has been put into every aspect of their event. Whether you are an equestrian that loves horses and wants to have your escort card double as a guest favor, or you are in a lovely mountain setting and want to bring a touch of the outdoors in with a more natural and unique escort card “tree”, there is no limit to what can be done.
There are so many unique, individual or even classic ways to display your escort cards. We would like to share some of our most recent ones with you in hopes that you get some inspiration. One of our more regal and classically beautiful clients was thrilled when we introduced the timeless beauty of pearls into her event.
Another Client was so cute and loved all things red, so we put a touch of her quirky cute personality into the cherry escort cards lying on a bed of dried split peas! As mentioned before, one way of arranging seating is to assign your guests to specific places at each table. When assigning specific seats, it is a nice detail to add the name to the chair in a creative way.
Small details are what make a bride and groom’s day come together in ways they never expected. Paying attention to the things that they enjoy and something that their guests will remember about their event is what we strive for. Every wedding is unique and personal. Adding a customized look to something as small as an escort card can really give guests a window into the character of the couple and can set the tone for the rest of the evening!
