When it comes to adding special touches to your decor, incorporating ice sculptures or carvings into your event can make a huge statement! Not only is there the traditional sculpture as a decor element but ice can also be turned into an innovative bar, serving element and, believe it or not, furniture. Many couples like to add liquor luges to their bar, which adds an element of decor as well as some additional entertainment for your guests! Luges allow everyone to receive their beverage or shot through the ice as it chills and is fun! Ice sculptors are artists, who are able to work with their clients to devise the perfect design for their event and choose something that will emphasize the theme or look you’re going for.
Paige and Paul, a couple from last year had a personally designed emblem running throughout their entire event, which doubled as the ice luge and bar centerpiece! Aesthetic Ice was the creator of their crystal clear piece. The wedding I attended in Vail this last weekend was all about the mountains and skiing, so their personalized mountain liquor luge was a perfect fit. This was created by local ice sculptor, Micheal Campe of Colorado Ice Sculptures who has been in business since and is eager to help his clients design a one of a kind piece for their event. If you really want to go all out, use an ice bar for food or drinks. Presenting seafood or sushi on ice not only looks amazing but is practical.
Going this route keeps food fresh and cool for your guests. You can also add inserts for bottles of beverages which looks beautiful and keeps it chilled! This ice bar was designed and executed by Paul Wertin of Vail. He is a local ice guru who, as you can see, is a master of his craft and recently began his own business venture. Believe it or not, these amazing pieces of art are created by hours of chainsawing and chizzling into pure ice. They are able to withstand room temperature for about 6-8 hours and can have items frozen into them to add an extra element of decor. If you’re looking for something that will add that little something extra to your event, using ice is a great way to do it. The options are endless when ice is involved and virtually any design can be created!
