When you’re making plans for your wedding, don’t count out a brunch reception or daytime event. You’d be surprised at how much fun you could have with a day like these and the number of positives that can come out of it.
Of course the first thing that comes to my mind with a brunch wedding…MIMOSA!! That’s a given though. Really one of the biggest effects this could have on your big day is it can save you a ton. You can still have an equally as thought about, elegant and detail oriented day but morning events cost a great deal less. Think about it, no steaks, a significantly less amount of alcohol, and a huge one; site fees. Daytime site fees are much less than evening ones at the majority of venues. There are a ton of fun spins to put on traditional breakfast foods, too, that will wow your guests. Remember the pancake display I posted earlier in the month? PERFECT for this type of affair! And don’t get me started on drinks. Besides the obvious necessity that is the mimosa, provide a fresh squeezed juice bar that is colorful and delicious.

As for the design of the event as a whole, a day wedding gives you a little more free reign for a bright and fresh color palette. And where else could you use these adorable rooster place cards!?

If you’re concerned about boring your guests or not having enough entertainment, think out side of the box and possibly forgo the typical dance party DJ or band. Spring for some casual live music, games and good old fashioned fun!

For cake and desserts, provide breakfast sweets like doughnuts and cinnamon rolls and even make your cake out of something untraditional. No one ever said you had to have wedding cake to snack on!

Lastly, having all of your activity happen during the day will not only allow your friends and family to stay and have fun into the night and not be cut off by a late night restriction. It could also give the new couple the option to have a relaxing dinner before they head out for the night or even jet off on their honeymoon right from the wedding! Just like the classic. Think about it! You could truly provide a unique experience for your guests and yourself! Okay you might have to wake up a little earlier than you’d prefer but you won’t be sleeping anyway…
