When looking for your not so typical decor pieces try looking into terrariums! They can be found on many online stores but if you are feeling crafty enough you can even attempt to make your own. They can be used as escort card displays, favors, card holders, and more! Here are some of my favorite examples below.
I love the shape of both of these because you can fit so many different flowers inside. Terrariums range greatly in price depending on shape and size so you can fit them into many budgets. It is fun to have greenery spilling out to create different height variations. Whether creating a combination of terrariums or having a singular centerpiece you can make many different displays work using these decor pieces. The example on the right is of terrarium favors, and while they could get pricey, if they fit in your budget they are darling! Try hanging terrariums to create excellent chandeliers that will catch your guests eyes. The one on the left I LOVE because they are attached to an old bike wheel.
Here is a great example of card holders. At the end of the night you close it up and take it on home to reuse. This photo was taken by one of my personal favorites, the very talented Jordan Weiland. This was at our first wedding of last season in May. We used small terrariums along the long wood tables with a collection of small votive candles and flower arrangements. As I explained above these terrariums can be a bit pricey when purchasing the largest variety. However, when you use a few for accent pieces or small arrangements on your cocktail tables they can be manageable. They add character that a typical vase just cannot compare to. Be sure to chat with your planner or designer if this can fit into your flower plan!
