It’s Friday! And it’s Christmas weekend. So what is the first flower that comes to mind when you think of Christmas? The Poinsettia, of course. I know , I know, when you see a poinsettia it is usually in the same large arrangement at the base of a Christmas tree or fireplace not to say that those arrangements aren’t pretty. Just look above! But there are more ways than that to use a Poinsettia as decor and arrange them in more unique ways than most of us are used to. See for yourself! The two natural colors of poinsettia are white and red, both perfect for Christmas. White offers a more simple and sleek look.
Red is more traditional and, definitely, more bold.
Poinsettias became a staple in Christmas Tradition in the 1800′s because of it’s star shape, when it became known as the “Flower of the Holy Night”. It is a native flower of Mexico but is available from American distributors, in this day and age. Now we see it everywhere from centerpieces and floral arrangements, to home decor on throw pillows and accents and even wedding elements like this hairpiece! So there you have it. A poinsettia can be a quick hostess gift, as well, if you’re stuck on a thoughtful idea. Merry Christmas! Hopefully Santa brings you everything you want. See you next week!
